To Whom it May Concern:
My name is Jessica, and I have known Dr. Aviva Sinvany-Nubel for over a decade. At the turn of the century, I came out to my mother as TS. My mother (who has always cared very deeply for my well-being) wanted me to go to the very best therapist specializing in transgender care. She indeed found me the very best: Dr. Aviva Sinvany Nubel.
Unlike all of the other therapists and counselors I have ever met, Dr. Nubel does not try to seem distant from, superior to, or otherwise detached from her patients. Rather, she is genuinely human, legitimately concerned, warm, kind, loving, human, and exceptionally decent.
Other therapists will talk to you for 45 minutes and then say "it's time to go". Dr. Nubel doesn't look at the clock. She stays with you as long as is necessary, because she really and truly cares about your well-being and your happiness.
This woman's practice was a safe haven, a sanctuary, practically a temple of peace and acceptance. Anybody could come there and feel welcomed, regardless of their gender status, their appearance, or their social standing. Within her clinic, post-ops mingled with pre-ops, young with old, M2F with F2M. Everyone was welcome, and she helped everybody.
Rather than acting as a typical "gatekeeper" who wants to see you for years and earn lots of money off of you, Dr. Nubel is more like a mother or a beloved aunt. She truly wants what is best for your health and your happiness. She will work with you at every step of the way along your transition, and she will never steer you wrong. Her knowledge of all things 'trans' is incredible.
I cannot recommend this woman highly enough. She saved my life, as well as many others. She is a Mother Theresa to our community, selflessly serving the trans world despite not being "one of us" herself. She is a consummate nurse, a fascinating intellect, and a genuinely wonderful human being. There is no one on the planet quite like her, and I mean that in the very best possible way.
If you are any kind of transgendered and you need a therapist, general transition advice, or simply a caring ear to talk to, do yourself a favor: Call this woman today.
